The Marketplace

On Sunday, 31 January, Michelle and I will be selling our cupcakes and cookies at a brand new venue called The Marketplace! It promises to be a worthwhile outing for the whole family and will take place every second Sunday. It's location, Hathersage Farm, is a beautiful farm nestled among fruit trees, vineyards and huge regal old oak trees in the heart of Somerset West. We will be launching our funky new biscuit range, an exciting moment, so while Tate has his afternoon nap, and I get to update my blog, I'm also in thick of cookie dough! I promise to post some pics of the venue and our cookie range but can't guarantee the quality of as my beloved Canon as gone on the blink, so it's a "mik & druk" for now.

Happy Birthday Tate!

My precious baby boy turned 2 on Thursday! My oldest son is 18 already so it's been a while since I've had to remember to supply birthday goodies to school! As we had made Cupcakes for the playschools Christmas party Michelle and I decided to experiment with cookies, something we've been wanting to do for a while now. So on Wednesday, it was out with the baking paraphenalia and more importantly the decorating goodies, edible fairy dust, fondant icing, pink, blue, green colouring, pretty hand made flowers and of course the all important piping bags.......we kept it simple but where quite pleased with our first attempts.

Our very first blog.......

This is an extremely exciting and proud moment, our first blog! Many of you know us as Tutta Bella, but with a new year comes a new era. After much deliberation, Michelle and I have decided to close the doors to our much loved little lifestyle store, our main motivation is to spend more time with our extremely neglected families, who are growing up at a rapid speed! 2009 was an unbelievably exciting year for us as it turned into a cupcake baking and creating frenzy, all brought on by us serving cuppies in our courtyard. How where we to know that the cupcake phenomena would spark a complete u turn in our business. So, without further ado, or ramblings, I'm proud to introduce you to The Cupcake Tarts, yes, that'll be Michelle and I! The idea is to work from Michelle's studio, which at this stage needs lots of re-working, re-vamping and nurturing, a project we're about to get stuck into, and yes, we'll keep you updated on our blog! It'll be there that we can allow our creative juices to overflow, we have so many ideas, which change by the minute, and cannot wait to start putting into practice what we keep "preaching"! So, welcome to our blog, we hope you will enjoy what you see & read and look forward to hearing your stories, comments and any other bits of interesting info you have for us.
