When life hands you lemons make lemonade......

On March 20 we had the privilege of co-ordinating Adrian and Liza's lemon themed wedding, the setting was a private residence in the quaint village of  Rooi Els, high above the rocks over looking the magnificent warm Indian Ocean.  We decided on the lemon theme as this blended in naturally with the beautiful Fynbos, which grows in abundance on the rocky slopes.  Beautiful hues of greens, yellows, khakis and mustards, an awesome sight with a dreamy sea view as the backdrop. On arrival guests were directed by a path of rusty heart stakes planted in the ground with romantic laser cut words dangling from them, around the corner was a lemonade stand, welcoming guests with their own bottle of ice cold homemade lemonade and a classic spot to leave your gifts.  The deck was romantically decorated with lazer cut hearts, bottles of bright yellow roses, wire hearts filled with lemons and tall cafe style table and chairs drapped with crisp white tableclothes..........for starters it was plated fresh sushi,  from there onwards the fare never stopped, trays of tempting Italian antipastis, caramelized red onion, rocket and goats cheese wraps, prawn & chive crumpets with saffron mayonaise, spicy spinach and butternut parcels, chicken, haloumi & preserved lemon skewers just to name a few of the dishes being served.  On the dessert buffet where creamy marshmallows, giant chocolate and almond meringues, caramel pastry horns and to top it off decadent ice cream cones where doing the rounds.  Pretty white and yellow cupcakes boxed with thank you tags attached where offered as favours. Overall the wedding was intimate, refreshing, casual but elegant, unique and 100% Adrian and Liza!
